Easy Facial Recipes

Forget grandma’s recipes because you’re not cooking tonight. Instead, you’re treating yourself to a delectable facial!

Food is not just good for the inside but also great for the outside. With these healthy, delicious concoctions you’ll look and feel great without putting on weight!

Firming Masks:

Honey  – You need: 1 tbsp honey, 1 egg white, 1 tsp glycerin and ¼ cup flour. Whisk together all ingredients to form a paste. Apply over the face and throat using fingers. Leave on for 10 min. Do not cover eyes. Wash off with warm water.

Peach – You need: 1 ripe peach  (peeled and pitted) and 1 egg white. Mix peach and egg white in a blender until smooth. Gently pat mixture over face using fingers. Do not apply over eye area. Leave on for 30 min. Rinse off with cool water. 

Cucumber – You need: 1 cucumber (peeled), 1/2 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tsp witch hazel and 1 egg white. Beat egg white until fluffy. Grind cucumber in a food processor or blender. Drain out the cucumber pulp with a strainer, catching liquid in a bowl. Mix cucumber liquid with lemon juice and witch hazel. Stir and add the beaten egg white in gently. Apply over face avoiding eye area. Leave on for 15 to 25 min. Rinse with cool water. 

Moisturizing Masks:

Honey  – You need: Mix 2 tbsp honey with 2 tsp milk. Smooth over face and throat. Leave on for 10 min. Rinse off with warm water. 

Apple – You need: 1 apple (cored & quartered) and 2 tsp of honey. Chop the apple pieces in a food processor. Blend in the honey and refrigerate for about 10 min. Using fingers, gently pat mixture onto face, tap mixture on until honey feels tacky. Leave mask on for 30 min. Rinse with warm water.

Oatmeal – You need: ½ a cup of oatmeal and ½ a cup of plain yogurt. Mix items to form a paste. Apply over face avoiding eye area. Leave on for 10 min. Rinse with cool water.

Re-energizing Masks:

Cucumber (for oily skin) – You need: 1/2 cucumber (peeled), 1 egg white, 1 tbsp of lemon juice, 1 tsp of mint. Mix all ingredients in a food processor or blender and puree them. Refrigerate for 10 min. Apply mixture onto face using fingers. Do not apply over eyes. Leave on for 15 min. Rinse with warm, then cool water.

Strawberry – You need: 1/2 cup of strawberries (very ripe), 1/4 cup of cornstarch.
Blend strawberries and cornstarch in a food processor or blender to make a paste. Apply mixture over face, avoiding eye area. Leave on for about 30 min. Rinse with cool water.

Citrus Spritz – You need: 2 cups boiling water, 1 vitamin C and the lemon peels (zest) from 2 lemons (or your choice of peel). Let the vitamin C dissolve in the boiling water. Place the lemon zest in a glass bowl and pour the water over them. Let mixture sit over night. Remove the zest and pour liquid into a spray bottle. Apply to face liberally. Leave on for about 10 minutes and then rinse with cool water.
